Wishing all our customers and friends a Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
Genesis will be closed for the holidays 23rd Dec to 1st Jan. We will be exhibiting at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from the 9th to the 12th of January 2018. We hope to see you there in The Venetian, Suite #29-233.
While visiting dealers in the region, Gary is revisiting a pair of Genesis Prime for fine tuning at 2nd year. New electronics from CH Precision – P1 Phono with X1, L1 linestage. Gryphon Mephisto Solo, TechDas Air Force 1 with Transfiguration Proteus.
I first met Arnie in April 2002, when I visited him to try to convince him to build me a pair of Genesis 1’s after his company closed down the previous year. He cooked us both lunch at home – a wonderful seafood risotto – and ended up convincing ME to purchase the assets and inventory of Genesis from the bank that had foreclosed on Genesis Technologies.
Genesis Advanced Technologies was started less than 4 months later with a manufacturing facility in Seattle, WA and we set up a lab for Arnie to continue with his design work in Eagle, CO. I hired Arnie as the Chief Scientist, where he worked until his retirement in 2006.
Through Genesis, his legacy lives on. We continue to push the state-of-the-art to develop innovative products on the foundation that Arnie built: the servo-controlled woofer, the four-tower line-source loudspeaker systems, the ribbon midrange and ribbon tweeters, and most of all the focus on music first.
We posted this some time ago, but it bears repeating as many of our Genesis owners are from the UK/HK/SG/MY that use the UK-style power plug……. Using a UK to US plug adapter or US to UK plug adapter could be dangerous, or detrimental to your sound.
Gary talks about the new Anne Bisson Trio: Four Seasons in Jazz Live at Bernie’s album. Video in English with Chinese subtitles
On a recent visit to Hong Kong (on holiday, actually) Gary was inveigled by HKAVShow into speaking on video about the upcoming D2D album sponsored by Genesis Advanced Technologies (USA) and Brilliance Music (Thailand).
Here’s a great little video by Gig Harbor Audio featuring probably one of the rarest models of Genesis loudspeakers – the baby G7p “petite”. We are known for 6-foot tall behemoths, so no one expects a little stand-mount monitor, but it is Gary Koh’s “favorite design” because he says “it does so much for so little”. That being relative, of course.
The G7p uses the same tweeter as our flagship Genesis Prime (just much fewer of them) and the same high quality crossover components.
